Automoves Acquires New Montreal Terminal, Expanding Asset-Based Car Shipping Network
TORONTO, ON, June 2026 — Automoves, Canada’s leading finished vehicle logistics provider, has acquired a new terminal in Montreal. The acquisition strengthens the company’s presence in Quebec and reinforces its position as one of the few car shipping providers in Canada that operates entirely with its own assets.

The new Montreal facility expands Automoves’ capacity in one of Canada’s busiest vehicle shipping corridors, connecting the province’s dealership, fleet, auction, and export markets to the company’s coast-to-coast network. The terminal will operate under the same standards as every other Automoves facility, staffed by Automoves personnel and serviced by Automoves drivers and equipment.
The acquisition reflects a deliberate business model. While much of the car shipping industry in Canada relies on brokered freight, where a customer’s vehicle may pass through multiple subcontractors between pickup and delivery, Automoves owns and operates every part of the chain. The company uses its own trucks, employs its own drivers, and runs its own terminals from coast to coast. That level of control is uncommon in the Canadian vehicle transport market, where brokerage models are the norm.
We made a decision early on that we would own our network, not rent someone else’s. Every vehicle we move is on an Automoves truck, handled by an Automoves driver, and processed through an Automoves terminal. The Montreal acquisition is a continuation of that commitment. When a client books with us, they get us.
— Andrejs Ludzeneks, Managing Director, Automoves
For car shipping customers, the distinction between a carrier and a broker comes down to accountability. When a single company controls the vehicle from origin to destination, there is one point of contact, one standard of care, and one party responsible for the outcome. Automoves says this model is what allows the company to maintain a 97.5% on time delivery rate while shipping hundreds of vehicles per week across its network.
The company’s 7 terminals span every major region of the country, from British Columbia through the Prairies, across Ontario and Quebec, and into Atlantic Canada. That physical footprint gives Automoves direct access to vehicles in virtually every market in the country without relying on third-party carriers to fill gaps in coverage.
Automoves provides car shipping services for automotive manufacturers, franchise dealerships, fleet operators, auction buyers, international export clients, and retail customers. The company handles all vehicle types and conditions, including inoperable and salvage units, using its own specialized loading equipment and trained drivers.
